Challenger 24 - 1976

Boat Description:

One of McGruer's little known gems is the Challenger, of which just over 800 hulls were built in Canada from about 1973 - 1980. The Challenger, at 24 feet and 8' beam, offers 5'11" headroom in the salon and head, a semi private head and v-berth, galley with icebox, sink and plumbing, bunks for six - although four would be more than crowded on a boat this size - and huge storage capacity, especially if it is an outboard version.

Sirius 21 - 1979

Boat Description:

This is a well kept boat. Designed at Vandestadt, the "Sirius 21" was an innovative boat and indeed is said to be the first North American production-built, ballasted cruising boat with positive flotation. In a more expensive procedure, closed-cell foam was injected into some compartments, then into the gap between the inner and outer hull the full length and up to the deck level. The foam stiffened the hull, provided sound and head insulation as well as buoyancy. Unsinkable.

Tanzer 7.5

Boat Description: The Tanzer 7.5 was built by Tanzer Industries and designed by Johann "Hans" Tanzer. The 7.5 has a nicely laid out interior which features two full length settees on both sides of the cabin. One of the settees in the main cabin converts into a double to provide place to sleep a fourth adult. The Tanzer 7.5 would be a good choice for a small family or a couple who aren't too tall, and are looking for an easy handling boat.

Kirby 25

Boat Description: The Kirby 25 was built by Mirage Yachts and designed by Bruce Kirby. All deck fittings including cleats and stantion bases are securely attached. All deck fittings are backed with washers. The Kirby 25 has to be considered an out and out high performance racing boat. In fact, it has running backstays, which have to be released and tensioned after every tack. Mirage Yacht commissioned Bruce Kirby to design a racing boat in the same size range as the J/24 which became the Kirby 25.
